Ready, Set, Tishrei!

Hi Everybody! Galit here!

I hope your school year is off to an amazing start!

We are gearing up for our yearly campaign! Keep your eyes peeled - it’s just after Rosh Hashanah!  And this is along with our full bikur cholim guesthouse, bursting Shabbos Seudos, and events -

Check out this Challah Bake!

As a zechus for our guests undergoing medical treatment, we often invite women from the community to Challah Bakes, to take hafrashas challah together. Every challah bake is powerful, as women come together to uplift the physical into spiritual.

This summer though, we had a special guest. Tami Braslavski, whose son Rom has been held hostage in Gaza for nearly a year, came to inspire.
Everyone’s stomach turns when they think about our brothers and sisters that are captive in Gaza. But let me tell you, it was something else to actually meet Tami, and hear her story, emunah, and strength.

The massive challah bake was a zechus for Rom. We davened that he should return home alive and whole soon, along with the rest of the captives be”H. May Hashem answer us l’tova!

We also began having volunteers twice weekly in LevLA!

Wednesday is baking day!
The baking is led by Elisheva Levine.  She comes each week and guides students from YULA, Maimonides, Hillel, and Machon to bake different goodies each week for dessert. We have been enjoying these Shabbos treats!

Thursday we set the table for Shabbos.
It takes over an hour, even with the help! It is so nice to just pull the dips out of the fridge on Friday night, and put them on the perfectly set table!

Our helpful volunteers!

I'd love to contribute!

I’ve also been cooking a lot for Rosh Hashanah - we will be hosting 150 people over the three days be”H.

With our campaign right after Rosh Hashanah, followed by the rest of the chagim, this month will be non-stop!! Be sure to share our campaign message so you, your family, and friends can be part of the LevLA healing.

Wishing you, our guests, and all of klal yisroel, a shana tova! May we share good news only, and all of your prayers be answered l’tova!
